Rift

Home > Poetry > This poem

A broken window we look through

You and me on either side

As mist fogs the glass between us,

We use it for our hearts to hide

To you the glass was never broken

It’s only a crack, you insist

But the wind hammers loud and hard

As we ignore our final rift
